This summer slip is a collaboration with LA based textile artist Graham Keegan. Graham dyes textiles using ancient colors and methods. These pieces were dyed in an alizarin infusion, extracted from the roots of the species Rubia tinctorum, Madder. The fabric for each garment was individually scoured, mordanted (primed for dyeing), then immersed in the dye vat. When the proper shade was reached, the color was fixed in a bath of chalk and wheat bran, then, finally, laundered.
This Slip is based off of a Victorian cotton slip, updated with pockets and a vent for longer stride. Meant to sit away from the body for ease and a carefree look.
